How Yardages handles
your data.

Who we are
Yardages is a golf scoring, GPS and shared-round product operated from the UK. This policy explains how we collect and use personal data when you use yardages.app, the Yardages web app, and the iOS or Android app.
Data we collect
We collect account and profile data such as your email address, username and display name; precise foreground location when you use GPS yardage or caddy features; user content such as rounds, scorecards, matches, feed posts and uploaded photos; device or push subscription tokens where notifications are enabled; and product analytics events that help us understand app usage and improve the service.
How we use data
We use this data to create and secure your account, run live rounds and scorecards, calculate scoring formats, provide GPS yardages and course context, show your history and progress, deliver notifications you enable, prevent abuse, debug reliability issues, and understand which product and landing-page flows are working.
Location data
Precise location is used for on-course yardage, caddy and mapping features. The mobile app requests location through the operating system and should only use it in the foreground for these product features. You can deny or revoke location access in your browser or device settings, although GPS-dependent features may stop working.
Analytics and third parties
We use Supabase for authentication, database and storage; PostHog EU Cloud for product analytics; Mapbox for maps and course context; Netlify for hosting and serverless functions; and platform services for push notifications where enabled. These providers process data for Yardages so the product can operate, stay secure and improve over time.
Legal basis
For UK and EU users, we process data where it is necessary to provide the service you request, where we have a legitimate interest in running, securing and improving Yardages, where we need to comply with legal obligations, or where you have given consent, such as for device permissions or optional communications.
Retention
We keep account, round, scorecard and user content data while your account is active or while needed to provide the product. Analytics and operational records may be retained for a limited period to understand usage, debug issues and maintain security. We remove or anonymise data when it is no longer needed, unless we need to keep it for legal, security or abuse-prevention reasons.
Your choices and deletion requests
You can update some account details in the app and can control device permissions through your browser or operating system. To request account deletion, data deletion, access, correction or export, email privacy@yardages.app from the email address linked to your account. We will verify the request before deleting or exporting account data.
Children
Yardages is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data to Yardages, contact privacy@yardages.app so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
Changes
We may update this policy as Yardages changes. When we make material changes, we will update the date on this page and, where appropriate, notify users through the app or email.
